Matt is 36-21-3 year-to-date on his MLB free plays. On Wednesday, he heads to Philadelphia where the Phillies are hosting the Chicago Cubs in a very intriguing pitching matchup.

Event: (955) Chicago Cubs at (956) Philadelphia Phillies
Sport/League: MLB
Date/Time: August 14, 2019 7PM EDT
Play: 1H Total Under 5.0 (-110)

Cole Hamels comes back to Philly for the first time since 2015 when he pitched for the team. He had been cruising before his last start with an ERA of 1.07 in seven previous outings. He gave up five runs to the Reds in his last start. Several Phillies have good numbers against him, but this is a team that just fired their hitting coach because of their lack of hitting. Aaron Nola is 10-3 with a 3.67 ERA. Nola struggled in San Francisco but traditionally it’s a house of horrors for him. He’s got a 5.11 ERA in four career starts vs. the Cubs, but I like the spot the ace is in right now. Give me the early under in an emotional game. My one worry is that Hamels isn’t focused but he doesn’t seem like that type of guy.

Matt’s Wednesday Home Run Selection
An unfortunate loss in the 5th inning of the Indians/Red Sox game on Tuesday. The runs now are as follows 14-8-3 in my last 25, 26-16-6 in my last 48, and 42-27-9 in my last 76 plays. Tonight, I’m taking a look at this game in the National League.
