Texas State finally got rid of Everett Withers and brought in offensive specialist Jake Spavital to coach the team. The Bobcats have 19 starters total returning. Their offense was pathetic last year, but I think Spavital is going to get things going here.

Event: (139) Texas State at (140) TEXAS A&M
Sport/League: CFB
Date/Time: August 29, 2019 8PM EDT
Play: Total Over 56.0 (-110)

Spavital likes running an up-tempo system and will have Tyler Vitt under center. Vitt was pretty miserable last year, but once again he could flourish under the new system. The defense has a boatload of starters back and Zac Spavital as coordinator. He was the co-DC at Texas Tech. I think this side of the ball could struggle against Texas A&M.

The Aggies will go as Kellen Mond goes. Trayveon Williams is gone as well as some decent wide receivers. Mond last year had 24 touchdowns to nine interceptions. This team could throw the ball more with the likes of Quartney Davis, Jhamon Ausbon and Kendrick Rogers out wide. The defense only has four returning starters with the majority of those coming in the back end. The linebacking group has a lot of question marks.

The other thing to consider here is that Texas A&M has Clemson on the road next week and that’s a way bigger game. Last year, the sandwich around Clemson produced a 59-7 win over Northwestern State before and a 48-10 win over Louisiana Monroe after. I think there’s a shot that Jimbo Fisher has a boring gameplan, but they are also playing for early style points just in case this team has designs of making the playoffs. To me, I just need 10-13 points from TSU and this over should hit. Give me a potentially less then focused Aggies team in the 4th quarter and the over here.
