Mayakoba Golf Classic Head-to-Head Picks

Until Jordan Spieth shows he can return to his dominate form, I’m going to play against him in the Mayakoba Golf Classic.

Event: (7003) R. Fowler at (7004) Jordan Spieth
Date/Time: November 8, 2018 7AM EST
Play: R. Fowler -162

Mayakoba Golf Classic Picks

Spieth finished T-55 last week in his season debut after a first round 66, he got worse each day and his name slowly fell down the leaderboard. He missed the Tour Championship for the first time in his career last season and did not register a win. His putter is what seperated him from the field during his time at #1 in the world, but it has abandoned him as he was ranked #136 in putting last year on Tour. This is his first time playing at El Camaleon in this event, don’t expect him to turn it around on an unfamiliar course.

Rickie Fowler finished T-4 last week off a sizzling round of 63 on Sunday. After an injury forced him to miss a few weeks after the PGA Championship last season, he realistically was out of contention for the Fedex Cup. But he did play the final two events, finishing 8th at the BMW and 7th in the Tour Championship, which now makes three straight Top-10 starts for him, including last week’s finish. Fowler finished 2nd here last year, one shot behind winner Patton Kizzire and is primed to finish near the top again this week.

4% TAKE RICKIE FOWLER (-162) OVER JORDAN SPIETH (this is a Head to Head play on the total score of the tournament)

  • 3% TAKE J.J. SPAUN (-114) OVER DENNY McCARTHY (this is a Head to Head play on the total score of the tournament)
