College Basketball Line Report

The final Saturday of February in the college basketball orbit offers a large number of big games before entering March Madness. The feature event in the ACC finds the Duke Blue Devils traveling to the Carrier Dome to square off against the Syracuse Orange.

It isn’t breaking news that the coaches and players will have their nerves and emotions tested when the Orange host the Devils. Duke is expected to be without the projected first pick in this spring’s NBA draft, Zion Williamson, after a knee sprain and a 88-72 blowout loss at the hands of North Carolina on Wednesday night.

In addition to the Zion injury this week the Orange will be under the direction of a head coach Jim Boeheim three days after being involved in a fatal car accident. Late Wednesday night, while driving home from a restaurant following the team’s 69-48 victory over the then-No 18 Louisville Cardinals, Boeheim struck and killed a man along an interstate highway as he tried to avoid hitting the man’s disabled vehicle. Boeheim’s car struck Jimenez, who had exited his vehicle. Jimenez was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
