The EFL Cup final is being played at a neutral site, Wembley Stadium which is important to note as City beat Chelsea 2-0 back in August in the Community Shield at Wembley Stadium. Chelsea are desperate to win this Cup after being eliminated by United on Monday in the FA Cup and are have now fallen below European qualification for next season as they currently are in 6thplace in the Premier League. They are still alive and a favorite to do well in the Europa League so between this match and that League, those are their only chances at any trophies this season.

Chelsea are desperate to win the EFL Cup after being eliminated by United on Monday in the FA Cup and are have now fallen below European qualification for next season as they currently are in 6th place in the Premier League. They are still alive and a favorite to do well in the Europa League so between this match and that League, those are their only chances at any trophies this season.

However, this is Man City’s game to lose in my opinion. They have as easy of a Champions League match as you can have this week against Schalke and follow that up with three easier matches in the Premier League over the next two weeks, so scheduling is not a concern. City are the defending champs of this competition and have won it three times in the past five years. They are much better and deeper than Chelsea and I see them winning this game rather easily, meaning they at worst they push on this spread and I can certainly see them winning by two goals.

Chelsea handed Man City their first loss of the season back in December at Stamford Bridge which led to a run of three losses in four Premier League games for City that ultimately saw Liverpool take over the top spot in the standings. City then rebounded with a 6-0 thrashing of Chelsea just last weekend and while I don’t expect that score line again, I can certainly see a 2-0 or 3-0 win from City here again. City has won four of the last five meetings between these teams, all to nil with that 0-2 loss at Chelsea this season the exception.

The Blues have three losses in their last five games overall, the previously mentioned 0-6 loss at City, but they also lost 0-2 at home against United on Monday and lost 0-4 at Bournemouth back on January 30. Their two wins during that time frame were against bottom of the table Huddersfield, winning 5-0 and against Malmo in the Europa League. Malmo is from Sweden’s top league, a much weaker league than the Premier League. They had also lost four straight road games before that win at Malmo including 0-2 at Arsenal and 0-1 at Tottenham. They are struggling away from home and that will spell trouble against Man City in this game.

TAKE MANCHESTER CITY -1

I see this line moving to -1.25 before kickoff so grab this line now while it’s available.
